KPMG just pulled its AI report after organizations named in it said the claims were hallucinated

KPMG published a report called "Redefining excellence in the age of agentic AI."

Then UBS, the UK's NHS, Swiss Federal Railways, and Transport for London all said the claims about their AI usage were false.

GPTZero found the inaccuracies stemmed from AI hallucinations.

KPMG used AI to write a report about AI. The AI hallucinated. The report named organizations that denied the claims. KPMG pulled it.

This is not a one-off. EY withdrew a report last month with fake footnotes from the same problem.

Your enterprise is consuming Big Four research to inform AI strategy. That research is now being generated by the same models it claims to analyze.

Audit every external report your strategy team uses. Cross-check claims against primary sources. If your AI governance framework cites Big Four research, verify the citations exist.

The firms selling you AI transformation cannot verify their own AI output. That is the gap.

SIGNAL: Big Four firms are now producing hallucinated research about AI, and enterprises are using that research to make AI investment decisions. This is a governance failure at the advisory layer.
